The California Young Democrats Asian and Pacific Islander Caucus recruits, trains, and develops a new generation of Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) political leadership in the state of California and the country. Recognizing the struggle of generations of APIAs in American history, the API Caucus is dedicated to upholding the Democratic principles of diversity and equal opportunity. Conversely, API Caucus will work to ensure that the Democratic Party will continue to be inclusive and accessible to all communities.
The CYD API Caucus also encourages young APIA’s to become actively involved in political affairs through political campaigns, education, and working to hold the Democratic Party accountable to the needs and issues of Young Asian and Pacific Islander Americans. The CYD API Caucus trains and promotes diversity within CYD, its chapters, and affiliated organizations.
